Annual Club Meeting

We hold an Annual Meeting in conjunction with an existing marathon in a different country each year. We select the location to feature a different part of the world, rotating across the continents. Our regional ambassadors are instrumental in helping us to select our reunion locations.

We seek members to propose and host these annual events. For those interested in hosting an annual club meeting, please view the requirements (coming soon).

  • The 13th AGM was held on Norfolk Island on August 2, 2026. Donald Bierer was the sponsor. Norfolk Island was discovered by Europeans and named after the the Duchess of Norfolk by Captain James Cook. The first settlement was established in 1788. The early history of Norfolk Island was that of a penal settlement, as there were two convict settlements on the island from 1788-1814 and from 1825-1855. The latter was reputed to be one of the harshest penal settlements in the British empire. Following the closure of the second penal colony, the island was chosen in 1856 to relocate the people of Pitcairn Island, a community of descendants of mutineers from the HMS Bounty and their Tahitian brides, who had overgrown the capacity of Pitcairn Island. This historical link to Pitcairn is the reason that Norfolk Island was selected to be coupled to the first Pitcairn Island Marathon. The penal colony buildings and the site where Captian Cook landed can be visited and are along the marathon course. Today, Norfolk Island is a self-governing Australian territory known for it’s unique culture and heritage. It has an ISO number, which is why it counts as a country for MG. There were 11 Starters and 10 Finishers of the Norfolk Island Marathon.
