Frank Fuessl

"Guten Tag", my name is Frank Füssl, born in Berlin 1967. I am a German endurance athlete since 1985 having finished 9 Ironmen, 51 marathons (best time 2:57:30), 6 roller blade marathons and hundreds of half marathons, 10 k runs and short distance triathlons. I prefer exotic marathons like Baikal Ice Marathon, Gobi Marathon, Zermatt Marathon, Volcano Marathon to the big City Marathons. I love also Trail running. My greatest successes were a 3. place in the German student's triathlon championship 1995 and the win of Gobi Marathon 2010 and Managua Marathon 2013. I love to travel around the world having visited more than 140 countries, mostly without running a Marathon in the country. I just run one or two Marathons a year. Here is just a nice story, how I got in contact to the Marathon Globetrotters: I was on a cruise ship in the Caribbean Sea on Christmas 2014 (visiting countries #97 - #100: Columbia, Panama, Costa Rica, Bahamas). On sea days I was running in the morning circles on the cruise ship and I am used to be the only one running longer than half an hour. But there was a runner, who was running 2 hours in the morning and again 2 hours before lunch. We decided to contact this "crazy" guy. The runner was Rich Holmes and he told me, that he founded this club and that I should get a member. So there I am. I got contact to a lot of nice and crazy runners, when I was participating the Jersey Marathon in 2015. Now I want to say "Dankeschön" to Rich and to all people, who are busy for the Marathon Globetrotters, you are doing a very good job!!!
