Nicholas David Turner

I am a late 30-something British lawyer currently based in Dubai, having previously spent two years in Australia, where my running addiction was cemented. I have completed over 110 marathons/ultra-marathons around the world, the first being in 2006. Last year I published a book about my adventures on the way to the first century – “How Not to Run 100 Marathons” (available on Amazon!) – which was far from plain sailing.

I have somehow managed to win six events along the way, including a 50 miler on the Gold Coast, Australia and a 24 hour event in Preston (Foxton 24). Other highlights included 26 marathons in 2015, raising money for the NSPCC and Ovarian Cancer Awareness, and marathons in 11 different countries in 2017.

My focus now is on adding as many countries as possible to my list – my other half is much more tolerant of my marathon running when it is combined with a holiday somewhere exotic!
