Richard Ervais

Ran my first large marathon for charity in 2001 in Honolulu as part of the AIDS Marathon Training Program to raise money for the San Francisco AIDS Foundation. Three weeks prior, the program staged a "practice" marathon in Golden Gate Park on a measured course with medals and 2,500 participants, so actually a pretty substantial marathon. Was hooked and have now run 15 Honolulus, 17 New Yorks, 9 Bostons, etc., plus all 7 continents twice, all of the Abbott Majors and am working on the US states. I met my husband, Zander Ross, in our NYC running club in 2006 and we have now run around 170 marathons together, served together on the steering committee of International Front Runners (the largest LGBTQ+ running organization in the world) and were named the Brooks Running Valentines couple in 2021. I love the camaraderie, travel, adventure, fitness and challenges and look forward to running marathons for years to come.
